Crafted in Poland. Built by riders. Driven by community.

Heca is an independent wakeskate brand founded by riders in 2015. Built in Poland and rooted in skateboarding, we started with a simple idea β€” to bring the closest possible feeling of skateboarding onto water. From the very beginning, we have combined craftsmanship, engineering know-how and a deep understanding of what riders expect from a board.

OUR BEGINNING

Heca started long before it had a name.

In the early days, the three of us β€” Jacek, Bart and Agnieszka β€” were brought together by a shared connection to boards, design and the belief that wakeskating could be something more.

Jacek, a skateboarder since his early youth, had already begun experimenting with wakeskate boards β€” building early prototypes under the name Polsport, driven by curiosity and a deep connection to skateboarding. At the same time, Bart was shaping the visual direction of what would later become Heca β€” from the very first logo to the identity that still defines the brand today.

Behind the scenes, Agnieszka was bringing structure to it all β€” shaping communication, connecting ideas and helping turn a raw concept into something that could grow.

Not long after, we decided to turn that passion into something real. The name Heca β€” taken from a Polish word meaning something wild, unexpected, a bit crazy β€” felt exactly right. And it stayed.

The first Heca boards were built in a small garage in Ε»elazowa Wola, where we lived. Using hands-on methods and simple tools, and with the support of Jacek’s father Marek β€” a wood technologist β€” the earliest constructions started to take shape.

There was no big plan. Just a belief that wakeskating could feel better.

Early on, the boards started getting attention β€” first in Germany, where riders like Lukas Winkelmann and Marcel Tilwitz became part of the journey. Together, they tested the first boards, shared honest feedback and helped shape what worked β€” and what didn’t.

At the same time in Poland, we were closely connected with Wake & Skate Park, where the boards were tested again and again in real conditions.

Trips, collaborations and projects like Cruising Together or Wakeskate Connection naturally followed, connecting people and building something bigger than we initially imagined.

From there, things kept evolving β€” but the core has never changed.

Somewhere along the way, a pack Jack Russell Terriers also became part of the story.

DEVELOPMENT

Between 2020 and 2023, we spent three years developing a new generation of wakeskate construction supported by the European Union. Working together with engineers and riders, we focused on performance, durability, and achieving a more skateboard-like feel on water.

The result is a refined construction built layer by layer β€” combining carefully selected materials with hands-on production.

In 2025, Heca celebrated its 10-year anniversary β€” marking a decade of rider-driven development, experimentation and continuous evolution.

MORE THAN BOARDS

Heca has never been only about building boards.

From day one, we have actively supported the development of wakeskating β€” working with riders, organizing events and helping grow the community around the sport.

Through collaborations, grassroots initiatives and projects like GWC β€” as well as collaborations with platforms such as Wakeskate Wednesday β€” we aim to create real opportunities for riders across Europe and beyond.

For us, wakeskating is not just a product β€” it’s a culture we help build.
